About Us

Gwenda Hughes, owner of Ffeind Cyf is fluent Welsh speaker, born and bred in the Dyffryn Nantlle area. A caring and dynamic individual who has extensive experience of leading and managing a support service within health and social care in Gwynedd. with a passion to make a difference to the lives of individuals of all ages living in Gwynedd. Dementia is close to Gwenda’s heart, having both personal and professional experience of supporting persons living with dementia. Ffeind Cyf is a dementia friendly organisation. 

Gwenda, who is seen as a key individual within the North Gwynedd health and social care sector having launched and developed niche services to individuals in the county. Gwenda loves working with individuals living in the community and as a hands-on leader will deliver regular weekly person-centred support and manage a team of Support Workers. 

Ffeind has been inspired by two very special people in Gwenda's life. First, the inspiration behind the name Ffeind is Gwyneth, Gwenda's mam. This is because of her kindness and how kind she has always been with Gwenda and everyone who knows her. In Welsh Ffeind is an endearing word for kind. Secondly Iolo, the first person to be supported by Gwenda. Iolo lived with dementia and the precious memories in his company has motivated Gwenda to develop a dementia friendly service in North Gwynedd

Previous experience has been in tourism and hospitality sales and marketing having locally and internationally. The last 12 years has seen Gwenda move to the health and social care sector, where she has worked for multiple national charities to include Alzheimer’s Society.
